
Institute of Languages
In accordance with what is established by the Ministry of National Education in the National Program of Bilingualism 2004-2019, it is necessary to develop in the colombian ability to communicate in a foreign language, English, among others. Therefore, it is a commitment of the colombian education at all levels, encourage, and strengthen the learning of English, taking as a reference the standards laid down in the Common European Framework. It is as well as the Institute of Languages of UNIAGRARIA according to the Agreement of the Superior Council No. 0306 assumes the commitment of providing students with six levels of English to a professional qualification, a cultural openness and academic performance of excellence.
Mission
The Language Institute is an academic unit that is charged with developing and promoting training courses in a foreign language, aimed at all students of the Fundación Universitaria Agraria de Colombia. In the same way, is in charge of promoting and generating agreements and alliances with the aim of improving the levels of competence in contexts natives; as well as, to train the agricultural and business sectors in the management of the English.
On the other hand, in accordance with the objectives of UNIAGRARIA, the Institute contributes to the formation of the community uniagrarista, through the constant updating of the dynamic curriculum and the implementation of strategies to strengthen the processes of teaching – learning of foreign languages.
Vision
The Language Institute is projected as an academic unit leader in the development of programs in foreign languages for the academic training of professionals UNIAGRARIA. Strengthen the methodological strategies offered and encourage continuous professional development based on investigative procedures aware and rich in bibliographical production.
In addition, establish itself as a center of high-quality training in foreign languages, especially in the agricultural and business sectors. And for the improvement of the linguistic, cultural and communicative of children, young people and adults.
General Objective
The student must achieve a level B1+ of basic competence in English to enable you to communicate effectively in accordance with the demands of our current society. For this, we promote teaching and learning processes for the acquisition and development of skills at the level of the skills linguistics, sociolinguistics, cultural, and pragmatic, without neglecting the cultural competencies that will facilitate the interaction with others in the world, family, social and labour that will be faced after its passage by UNIAGRARIA.

Training modalities in English
As part of their degree requirements, undergraduate students Uniagraria must demonstrate antela institution a level of competence in a second language higher or equal to B1, in accordance with the requirements of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). To achieve this purpose, the Language Institute measures the progress of students through six levels equivalent to the levels A1, A2 and B1 of the CEFR and offers its students the following training modalities in English:

Validation Testing International
Presentation of an exam with valid international (PET, TOEFL, IELTS, MET, FCE AND CAE) in second language to give an account of the competence required by the institution. This mode demands the presentation to the Institute of Languages of the original certification of the results of that test, which checks for possible endorsement by the Institute of Languages.
Depending on the type of certificate that is presented it is possible that the language institute may request additional information that will be used for verification.
