Who are we?

The Institute Uniagrarista for the Rural Family “Teresa Arevalo Ramirez” is an institute of scientific research and transdisciplinary, whose purpose is to contribute from the academy to the strengthening of the rural family in colombia.

Fundación Universitaria Agraria de Colombia, by agreement No. 0486 10 November 2010, the Superior Council provided for the creation and operation of the Institute Uniagrarista for the Rural Family “Teresa Arevalo Ramirez”.

Mission

The mission of the institute is the study and investigation of the nature, functioning and development of the family (especially rural), to promote and support the enhancement of economic and social of the same,
to contribute to the knowledge and dynamics of the peasant woman and an indigenous man, rural, youth, and older adults, promoting the well-being and relationship with the development of the rural economy, contributing to social peace, democratic stability and the development of human talent.

Center of Thought for the Extension and the Regional Development

The Vice-rector's office of Extension and outreach has within its great missions to contribute to the inclusion and access of the rural populations in the different processes of training, which allows them to strengthen their skills in areas that they consider fundamental to their work practice.

For this reason, it has, within its institutes with the Institute Uniagrarista of education for work and human development. This institute is structured with the purpose of generating an alternative training for the people who have completed the ninth grade, or that, having finished her bachelor's degree require to move in a formation of competences and skills that will allow them to enter the field of labour and improve their quality of life.

The Institute Unagrarista of education for work and human development are thought to serve with quality in processes of formation that are useful for life.
