El egresado de Ingeniería Industrial de Uniagraria apropia herramientas que proveen las ciencias físicas y matemáticas, las técnicas matemáticas, y las ciencias básicas de Ingeniería, gestiona los procesos productivos de cualquier organización, buscando la productividad, rentabilidad y competitividad de las empresas, posee amplio conocimiento de la cadena logística, investigación de operaciones y de producción, que le permiten planear, organizar, dirigir y controlar sistemas de producción de bienes y servicios en cualquier tipo de organización, dirige y gestiona sistemas productivos y logísticos orientados al sector rural buscando con sus conocimientos aportar al desarrollo productivo del campo colombiano, gestiona la planeación estratégica, financiera y del talento humano, procesa, analiza e interpreta información financiera de los diferentes sectores de la economía, toma decisiones ágiles y oportunas en cualquier escenario empresarial a partir de la apropiación de tecnologías digitales que le permite estar preparado ante los drásticos cambios empresariales, es capaz de tomar decisiones empresariales con base en análisis de los entornos competitivos, apoyado en sistemas y tecnologías de la información.
The Industrial Engineering program of UNIAGRARIA takes 25 years training professionals of the highest quality, which have been highlighted in different sectors of the economy, such as industry, banking, the public sector, but especially in the rural countryside, where they have excelled for their contributions to the development of the communities by bringing the knowledge and the imprint of the university, giving solutions that have substantially improved the production processes and logistics, safety and occupational health of workers in the agro, likewise, giving support to the development of engineering projects to the peasant organizations through training and contribution in the administration and management of the processes of these.
In addition, it should be noted that many of the graduates of Industrial Engineering UNIAGRARIA, today they are a leading entrepreneurs, this is due to the fact that during their training they received support to take their life project, aligned to one of the pillars of the Institution, which is the Entrepreneurship.
This program was created on September 7, 1999 by Agreement No. 192, issued by the Higher Council. In Quality you can play as a Leader, Manager, or Quality Manager, Analyst, process, Coordinator, or Director of Continuous Improvement processes, Quality Auditor, Assessor of Quality processes, among others.
In Finance you will be able to occupy the position of Manager, Assistant manager or Chief Financial officer, Business Analyst, budget Analyst, Director or Project Coordinator.
In administrative areas you will be a Leader Of Human resource Management, Director or Coordinator of Human Talent, Analyst, Chief, Director, Manager of Occupational Health and Safety.
In the field of Data analytics you can get to be a Leader of the processes of transformation, digital Analyst, Consultant or Coordinator of the analytical results.
In the party Environmental can work as a Leader or Manager of Environmental Processes.

We train professionals with ability to design, organize, direct, manage, and improve the systems of production of any type of organization, from the appropriation of the tools and techniques that provides the discipline, committed to the clean production, logistics processes sustainable, research and social projection, with emphasis on the regional development of the primary sector of the economy. We have a strong commitment to entrepreneurship, sustainability and social and environmental responsibility.
To train Industrial Engineers principled, innovative, committed to sustainability, capable of leading major transformations in the productive sector, through research, teaching and extension, with social responsibility and conservation of the environment, and that through its technical expertise, contribute to regional development with a territorial approach.
For the year 2030, the Industrial Engineering program of UNIAGRARIA will be displayed as a reference in higher education, recognized for their high quality and commitment to sustainability and regional development. We will create professional, sincere and competent leaders in the production processes in a sustainable way, focused on the development of the primary sector of the colombian economy.
General objective
The Industrial Engineering program of UNIAGRARIA has as its purpose, to encourage the development of research and extension, ensuring the training of Industrial Engineers are characterised by their leadership, creativity and entrepreneurship, with training in digital tools that enable them to have an analytical picture of the organizational systems; its emphasis is directed towards the logistics of the rural sector in colombia, the sustainability and social responsibility, which will boost the competitiveness of the supply chains and thus contribute to the knowledge of the regional development with a territorial approach.
Specific objectives
- To train Industrial Engineers with an entrepreneurial spirit and research and social responsibility, committed to the improvement of the quality of life and conservation of the environment, which contribute to the development of the economy of the country.
- To train competent professionals, able to design, lead, manage, and optimize the processes of supply chains in different sectors of the economy of the country, particularly in the primary sector.
- Work for the training in management and business development, which aimed to formulate and manage projects of entrepreneurship, primarily in technology-based local and regional level.
- To encourage the research for the generation, construction and transfer of knowledge with an emphasis in logistics green and sustainability.
- Coordinate and coordinate actions in order to offer alternative solutions to the needs, problems and situations of local communities, regional, national and international in the field of the program, through relations of exchange and cooperation, practices, and training programs that meet the needs and progress of science and technology.

Sistema de Investigación del Programa de Ingeniería Industrial
La Fundación Universitaria Agraria de Colombia (UNIAGRARIA) ha definido un marco estratégico de investigación que se centra en tres grandes campos: i) Sostenibilidad y Sustentabilidad, ii) Región y Ruralidad, y iii) Innovación Socioagrarista y Cultura del Emprendimiento, que orientan la investigación institucional y guían la alineación de los programas académicos, incluyendo el de Ingeniería Industrial. Este programa, mediante sus líneas de investigación, se integra de manera coherente con estos campos, asegurando que las actividades investigativas contribuyan al desarrollo integral de la universidad y de la sociedad.
Línea de Investigación del Programa de Ingeniería Industrial
El programa ha establecido un campo de investigación: Gestión de Operaciones, que se conecta directamente con las prioridades estratégicas institucionales. Esta línea abarca aspectos cruciales de la ingeniería industrial, como la optimización de procesos, la logística, y la gestión de la cadena de suministro, siempre con un enfoque en la sostenibilidad y la innovación.
Innovar Tecnológico
El programa cuenta con el grupo de investigación Innovar Tecnológico, ajustándose a los requisitos estipulados por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación y acorde con la Política de Investigación Institucional y con la Misión, la Visión y PEI. Este grupo ha orientado la dinámica de investigación mediante proyectos de aula, de grado, semilleros de investigación (investigación formativa) y desarrollo de proyectos con participación de docentes y estudiantes (investigación aplicada). La investigación ha sido transdisciplinaria, buscando enlazar la academia con el sector real, además de incluir aspectos regionales de apoyo al sector público, privado y cooperativo de la zona de influencia de la institución.
Semillero de Investigación
El programa cuenta con el semillero “Sembrando Ciencia” el cual fue creado en el marco del Programa de Semilleros de Investigación que UNIAGRARIA estableció mediante el Acuerdo 901 de 2018. Este semillero da cuenta de un trabajo continúo orientado a fortalecer y enriquecer la investigación formativa, lo cual se evidencia en las intervenciones realizadas en diversos escenarios. Asimismo, busca articular la investigación con las funciones sustantivas de extensión, internacionalización y formación en entornos digitales.
