In Uniagraria, we are proud to present the only program of Environmental Engineering in Colombia, backed by an institution committed to the rural and regionalization. Our approach not only focuses on academic excellence, but also in the sustainability, integrity and social inclusion. With an innovative curriculum, we prioritize the implementation of new technologies for the prevention and management of environmental impacts caused on resources of water, soil and air, through subjects such as design, computer-aided, algorithms, and programming, gis, and remote sensing, dynamic systems, modeling and simulation environment. With a focus on the integrated management of the natural resources and regional development, we have an array of subjects in the lines of zoning and land-use planning; risk management; modeling and simulation of environmental and ecosystem services applied to the territories, regions, and the rural context, and contribute to the conservation of natural resources, the improvement of the quality of life and economic growth of the country, supported by specialized laboratories, the domain of modelling techniques and practices of entrepreneurship and formulation of projects, our students are prepared to optimize processes and to mitigate environmental impacts.
In Uniagraria, we recognize the importance of personalization in education. That is why our program offers flexibility through a portfolio of subjects, deepening and elective interdisciplinary, students have the chance to enrich their education and enhance their personal development. It also gives them the opportunity to carry out approval procedures, internal transfer, enrollment of additional subjects during the semester, and even have the option of studying a dual program to obtain the degree in two areas of different study, in such a way that students can tailor their education to their interests and professional projects.
Considering the goal of the Environmental Engineering program of the Uni Agrarian, the program aligns with the national classification of occupations in the sector table of Environmental Services and the area of Promotion and Environmental Management in R+D+I. This is because the graduates of the program will possess a strong background in both theoretical and practical in the comprehensive management of natural resources, the enforcement of the environmental regulations in place, the implementation of simulations and/or modeling environment; the zoning and land-use planning, risk management, and climate variability and change, which will contribute to the identification and evaluation of environmental impacts. All with the aim of improving the environmental performance and efficiency in the operations and activities of various projects, businesses, or organizations of the region. In addition, you will be ready to support processes of research in the environmental field, standing out for his critical thinking and reflective, and is fundamental to offer responses to the quality of the society in the exercise of their profession.
