Why are we the Or of the extension in Colombia?
UNIAGRARIA is an Institution of higher education since its foundation, it has had as its mission to make a positive impact on the rural development of the country.
After 30 years of experience, has worked in focus the research, training and extension in this mission, doing activities that lead to identify the problems and demands of the society and its environment, coordinating the actions of transfer, re-purposing and re-creation of teaching and research activities from the interaction with the context.
The extension in UNIAGRARIA is oriented towards the presence and faculty interaction through which they contribute to society (in the form of critical and creative) results and achievements of their processes of research and teaching, by knowing the national reality, enhances and resizes its academic activity joint.
The university extension plays a role of continuing education of the university community itself as a whole; a role in the dissemination of scientific and cultural diversity; one in the social transformation and community development and a role in the transfer of technology, with a strategic vision of the rural development in the country.

Morning rural
The roundtable discussion Morning Rural born from the program of Agro-industrial Engineering with the School of Thought for Sustainable Rural Development (EPDRS) and with the support of the Dr. Claudia Toro, director of the Extension Unit and Relationship with the Environment UNEM.
Morning rural are an academic space that has as purpose to expose the different experiences focused on the rural development from different disciplines of knowledge, this initiative, which since April of 2014 operates fostering a dynamic, articulation and synergies between the audience and the speaker.
Morning rural place every Wednesday from 7:00 to.m. 9:00 to.m. with live transmission from our YouTube channel institutional; to date there have been 170 programs with an average of 250 visualizations, each one of them, where they have involved a range of invited guests, teachers, students, producers, representative of governmental and private companies, among others. Throughout each day, we have developed themes that have contributed in a substantial manner to solve problems in the field from interdisciplinarity.
In this way the early morning rural are an important contribution that performs Uniagraria to bring all of those initiatives and knowledge to the regions of Colombia to the peasants access to this information according to their context of production and social, also have become documents of teacher support in the different programs.

Since 2015, Uniagraria has disposed of a communicative space especially for community radio stations, colleges and universities. In it, each week we will treat topics of interest to the rural development, with special guests and speaking of projects, programs or initiatives that contribute to the development of the agricultural sector.
Science and faith in the field also has a cultural space, directed by maestro Carlos Mauricio Rangel Valderrama. There we come to the traditional music, folk and popular colombian and Latin America.
In the course of the program, we've had personalities as the academic Antonio Elizalde, or Jorge Orlando Gaitán Arciniegas, former rector and founder of the Fundación Universitaria Agraria de Colombia; Kenny Lavacude, director of Acción Cultural Popular – ACPO; and José Humberto Oliveira, director of the INSTITUTE in Colombia.
As well as they, more than 60 peasant leaders, public officials, teachers and students have made their contributions and reflections on topics relevant to the agricultural sector in the country.
