Fundación Universitaria Agraria de Colombia – UNIAGRARIA, established in the year 1985 under the Constitution Act, signed on march 8, is an Institution of Higher Education of a private nature that was born with the motto “Science and Faith in the field”, and since its inception it has aimed its efforts to contribute to the integral formation of the colombian people and the country's development, focusing its Institutional Educational Project (PEI) and its mission in the BE – understood as the triad Sustainability – Entrepreneurship – Regionalization, which has characterized the vocation and the commitment of the entity with the environmental sustainability, the culture of entrepreneurship and regional development with a territorial approach; pillars that support our mission and that have led it to become the “U Green of Colombia”. The graphical interpretation of the IEP represents a link to a synergist of the substantive functions of the Institution, supported by the technologies of information and communication – ICT, such as the factors that enhance the three pillars missionary UNIAGRARIA raised in an equilateral triangle, which provides the perfect balance for the construction of an integral to BE Uniagrarista. It was UNIAGRARIA conceived by its founders as an educational tool top-level to contribute to the training of human talent is essential for the development of the regional community and rural part of the country, comprising more than 12 million souls, with an emphasis on the peasant population that meets at about 2.8 million families scattered in the 1100 municipalities that make up the region and the national territory, a development that not only focuses on the improvement of the production and economic productivity of the plots, but its emphasis on the HUMAN factor and its conception as a person and as a community., need both of supports in the culture, history, art, music, literature and many other aspects that favor the achievement of happiness; a condition that is becoming more and more visible and indispensable to the survival of man for rural and her family in the territory, and thereby decrease the migration to large cities. Our identity comes from the way a coherent and harmonious as to develop the educational activities as a University Institution, in the face of the enterprises for the solution of real problems of the inhabitants of the territory, the protection of the environment and of the rural culture, looks from the formation of the human talent necessary to do so. The recognition of the economic power of the field and its potential for the food and the sustainable future of humanity, in addition to the study of their interrelationships with the urban centers, it is our purpose as a foundation and as an educational. It is the virtue that we do, what makes us different from similar institutions. The work of the Institution, in accordance with the IEP, is based on the quality, relevance, and internationalization; also in values such as respect, tolerance, consistency, the common good, trust, justice, and prioritizes the principles of humanism, discipline, leadership, excellence and innovation, which, since its inception, the Institution has been characterized by vocation and commitment to environmental sustainability, the culture of entrepreneurship and regional development with a territorial approach; pillars missionary that have led him to become the “Or Green Colombia”. In more than 30 years of existence, UNIAGRARIA has made significant progress in the consolidation of its postulates foundational and condensing the three pillars missionary above, that structure the BE and that have been referred to as seal differentiator in the substantive functions of teaching, research and extension. The imprint of the BE uniagrarista, following the guidelines of the PEI from the Model, Pedagogical and Curricular Policy, in particular in the core competencies general, disciplinary and, of course, institutional, with the respective learning outcomes that characterize the graduates of the Institution and are the differentiating factor compared to professional or graduate of other Institutions of Higher Education. In the same way, the imprint of the BE uniagrarista, is also grown from the research, highlighting the research training through a variety of strategies to contribute to the solution of real problems; but also to the satisfaction of needs visible in the community through applied research and the transfer of knowledge related with the regional development and sustainable rural entrepreneurship and innovation and the conservation of the environment. The integration of the substantive functions and the pillars mission is also present in the relationship with the external sector, especially the regional and rural areas, visible through programs and projects of the BE uniagrarista, as the SYSTEM SOW PEACE, UNIAGRARIA the Field, Plan 500 Schools Green to Colombia, early Mornings Rural Education in Rural Contexts, the creation of Offices and Regional Centers, and many other projects of the disciplines of the academic programs offered by the Institution.
