  • Professionals of the Legal Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, and those who have an affinity to discipline and/or professional with the socio-environmental conflicts.
  • Professionals who have inside of their purposes the achievement of goals within the public sector and/or private issues related to the environmental institutions.
  • Professionals working in organizations in the public and/or private related to environmental issues.
  • Professionals of all areas that have high sensitivity for the issues, socio-environmental from the interdisciplinary perspective, the maintenance of balance ecosystem and the compliance of the principles of sustainable development.

In the program of Specialization in Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability, there are three differentiating factors that are explained below:

(i) environmental Responsibility from different perspectives and to the right. The program addresses the responsibility from the perspective of private law, especially when it comes to contractual and tort liability. From the perspective of public law, State responsibility for environmental damage; the constitutional perspective, it addresses the responsibility of the State and the individuals in the context of the conservation of the environment and the natural heritage, and from the perspective of environmental law, the responsibility that arises from the violation of environmental regulations with the sanctioning procedure environmental. Likewise, it raises the debate in the colombian legislation of the environmental liability regime, between the objective, the subjective and the dual.

(ii) Discussions of environmental responsibility in interdisciplinary perspective. The assessment of the environmental damage poses an environmental justice analysis-socio-environmental conflicts-of new methods coming from the Sciences and Economic impacts that are of interest to the Legal Science, but included in the Environmental Sciences.

(iii) Sustainability as the axis of the responsibility. The emphasis of environmental responsibility in the horizon of the sustainable development marks a line to distinguish the regimes of responsibility objectives that are not put into consideration the perspective of socio-economic.

  • Assess and diagnose in the field of law and public policy organizations in the field of public-private, national and international levels.
  • Serve as an official in the different institutions of public power and private organizations related to environmental aspects.
  • Formulate and develop projects of interdisciplinary research in environmental matters.
  • Act as Consultant to public agencies and bodies, as well as private companies and individuals, both in the national and international level.
  • Participate as an actor in the discussion, and counseling for the development of legal standards in environmental responsibility.
  • Act as Adviser, Consultant, Member or Director of the institutions that are part of the National Environmental System.
  • Serve as a trainer of his specialty in environmental issues and responsibility, prior training in teaching.
