The program is aimed at professionals who develop or aspire to be linked to activities related to the management of the prevention of occupational risks and environmental impacts, in manufacturing or services, the public or private sector, consultants and general practitioners of technical areas such as engineering or related, interested in acquire skills that would enable them to build, manage and improve intervention programs for occupational risks and environmental.

The processes of globalization of the economy, the challenges of competitiveness and industrialization have led to the generation of different environmental pollutants that have a direct impact on the working environment and ecosystems, have created a challenge to the government, the institutions, the scientific and the business sector in the search for effective strategies to build a physical environment, economic, political and social that ensures the development of present and future generations. The forces that guide this process are enterprise integration and sustainable development.
Sustainable development should lead to a dynamic equilibrium between all the forms of capital that are involved in the development: human, financial, and social. The enterprise integration should lead to the re-engineering of processes of production (goods and services) and information systems, based on the continuous improvement that results in the quality of life of the workers and of the general population.
In this context UNIAGRARIA, presents this Specialization is endorsed by the quality of its teaching, which, from its commitment of contribution to the progress of the society promotes the formation adapted to the new needs of the business, the economic and social development, the promotion of entrepreneurship and solidarity to the conservation of the environment, the proper use of natural resources, the entrenchment of the culture and the progress of the colombian society.
In the specialization, the process of teaching and learning is based in departments with a high level of participation, oriented towards the study and analysis of cases and practical applications; and culminates with the completion of the thesis, as an effective means to contribute to both the development of applied research, such as teaching and social outreach, to allow students to apply the knowledge acquired in the Specialization.
General objective
To train specialists in the field of occupational health and safety and the protection of the environment with skills in the promotion of the improvement of working conditions and health of workers and the prevention and control of environmental impacts, through the applied research as the basis for the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs of prevention and management of risks related to the working conditions and the environment.
Specific objectives
- Form Specialists with skills to plan, implement, evaluate, and improve programs of prevention and management of risks related to the working conditions and the environment, consistent with the characteristics and human factors, physical, technical, technological and economic organizations.
- Contribute to research and innovation in the field of control of environmental hazards and impacts, under a perspective on techno-scientific.
- Interact with the different economic sectors, professional associations and public institutions for the development of joint projects in the field of action of the Specialization.
- Contribute to the design and/or update of the technical regulations and administrative line with the technological advances and the global context.
- Contribute to the update and overcoming standing of its graduates and the society in general, through the development of programs of continuing education and extension.
